Brief Backstory

During quarantine, I wanted to focus more on slow consumerism and supporting independent brands. If I had to shop online more often why not support local businesses?

I started to research companies that I wanted to try ranging from accessories to wellness and wanted to have all these brands clearly listed. So, why not turn this list into a larger site with brands from all walks of life? I haven’t been able to try all of the featured brands on this site but I have tried a few which I will discuss later.

This year, I started to really appreciate slow consumerism. Due to the pandemic, packages arrived later than usual. After spending money on a quality product, it was well worth the sometimes one month wait. As long as I ordered what I needed before I ran out, I didn’t mind the length of time.

However, I understand that accessibility is extremely important and some people have to buy what is in their area. Sustainable choices should be a right, not a privilege.

My philosophy is don’t be so hard on yourself and support when possible. I have to tell myself this often but this little mantra helps.
